Artist Statement

My work centres on investigating our cultures integration with technology and the increasing prevalence escapism.
The digital age began in the 90s, those that grew up during the emergence of the internet and modern computing are digital natives who comfortably accept and use all the products of our current digital technologies.

Spending a increasing amount of time online and experiencing the world with almost constant connection to the internet through phones and digital devices the question is how does this affect us socially and mentally? As the internet becomes as much of a part of our life as any other and the boundaries between the real and the digital world become more blurred.

My work seeks to make sense of growing up within the digital age and exploring the often undervalued significance of internet compulsion and social changes brought about by our immersion in technology.
